THE RATIONALE OF ASTRAL REMEDIES.

Role of Astrology Remedies:

The horoscope tells us the periods and types of sufferings we are likely to face, right from birth. The problems in life are caused by weak planets and/or afflictions to them. To help people overcome their problems, the astrologer advises appropriate propitiatory and strengthening astral remedies. Therefore, a two-way application of astral remedies is administered after diagnosing the problematic planetary influences in a chart.

First, strength is provided to the weak functional benefic planets. The strength can be provided by various methods, e.g. gemstone, color therapy, Kavach (the protective shield containing mystical numbers of the planets) at an auspicious time. Secondly, the malefic impact of the functional malefic planets is reduced through the regular practice of spiritual practices and offering propitiatory (peace-making) charities concerning these planets. The two-way application helps in reducing the impact of functional malefic planetary influences to a large extent. The preventive use of astral remedies is much more useful than the curative astral remedies. Generally, people seek astral remedies advice in the end after trying all other therapies ignoring the distinct advantage of the preventive diagnostic power of astrological science. It is needless to stress that the benefit of preventive measures as against those of the curative measures is much better.

Whenever performed with faith and sincerity, the efficacy of astral remedies in terms of immediate results depends on many things including the ascendant and the strength of the natal planets. If the functional malefic planets are more in the natal chart, with multiple close afflictions, and the functional benefic planets are weak, one benefits with delay. For example, those people born in the Virgo, Cancer, Pisces, Taurus and Capricorn ascendants need lots of time for sincere and faithful performance of propitiatory remedies. Then the further factors to be seen are the strength of the planets and especially the lord of the operating sub-period and the transit influences.

CHART 45

In February, 1992, Mr. Verma, an astrology student, who had been studying astrology in a New Delhi School, brought another person to me for astrological advice. This person, Dr. BKK, was working as a medical specialist in a noted hospital in Delhi. Dr. BKK said he did not believe in astrology. He had only come because of the insistence of Mr. Verma. Dr. BKK gave me his birth details. His marriage had been delayed and he wanted to know the reasons why.
I prepared his birth chart and found that the seventh house is closely afflicted by Ketu. The lord of the seventh house is also placed in an afflicted house. Transit Ketu at the time of the reading was at 15 degrees in Gemini and afflicting the natal Moon. Mars being the ascendant lord and the prime determinant of profession is placed in the house of status and shows his position. The weakness of natal Jupiter indicates that support through good fortune and father is less. So, the native was advised (1) to wear a yellow sapphire ring for strengthening natal Jupiter; and (2) to propitiate Ketu by giving some food to a street dog. Dr. BKK questioned how giving food to a street dog was related to his gaining marriage. I told him that even though he was handsome, his height was more than 6', he enjoyed good health and good position his marriage continued to be delayed. As per astrological analysis it was being obstructed by the influence of Ketu. I went on to clarify that though the relationship of the remedy for Ketu and his marriage could not be explained scientifically, the remedy would help in providing a timely marriage. The choice of doing the propitiatory remedy rested with Dr. BKK. He agreed to perform the remedies which resulted in his marriage to a lady medical doctor.

Dr. BKK was blessed with a son. When the son was about one year old, he fell ill due to a fever. The fever persisted for more than a month. Mr. Verma suggested to Dr. BKK that he contact me for finding a remedy. Dr. BKK mocked the suggestion and said that he and his wife both were doctors in a big hospital and what could an astrologer do to remedy the fever. Another week went by. On the insistence of Mr. Verma, Dr. BKK again contacted me for advice. I found that there was a transit affliction of Ketu in the chart of the boy. I told the doctor that again the performance for the remedy of Ketu was required for his son. I also advised him that whenever he was in a prolonged stress he should do the remedy for Ketu to receive relief.

CHART 46

Once again, time went by. For about ten years there was no contact. I had moved to my present location. In my close neighborhood there lived a lady doctor. From her behavior at times she appeared to be confused or absent minded. One day in June, 2004, she came to our residence and asked whether I was the famous astrologer V. K. Choudhry in Gurgaon. I responded to her wanting to know who had told her this. She mentioned to me that she had been dealing with a health problem over the last one year and had consulted most of the doctors in Gurgaon; none of the advice was helping her. Then we understood the reason for her appearing as confused or absent minded. At the time when her health problem was being discussed in her own hospital another lady doctor suggested that she consult an astrologer. Then, a lady doctor present during the discussion, the wife of Dr. BKK, recommended that she should consult the famous astrologer, V. K. Choudhry in Gurgaon. The suggestion of Dr. Mrs. BKK brought this doctor to our house. Her horoscope is given here.

The sign Scorpio rises in the ascendant and the planets Jupiter, Sun, Mercury, Moon and Saturn become the functional favorable planets. The planets Mars, Venus, Rahu and Ketu are functionally unfavorable planets. Jupiter and the Moon act as Sun-like planets. People born in this ascending sign enjoy professional success in life when the planets Sun, Jupiter and the Moon are well placed and fairly strong in the birth chart. They become doctors, officers with the government and in armed forces, managers and leaders. They enjoy a good position in society. In her case the Sun and the Moon are conjunct in the ninth house. Though the Moon becomes combust, this mutual conjunction and its good placement in the Sun-like house give fairly good results. The lord of the second house, ruling status, is placed in the tenth house. The lord of the fourth house, ruling mental peace, is badly placed in the state of debilitation. Mercury, ruling confidence and income, is badly placed. Mars rules her health and is in utter old age and badly placed. Venus is under the exact affliction by an aspect of Rahu. During the sub period of the badly placed Mercury in the main period of Ketu she started suffering from her health condition. This health concern persisted into the Venus sub period in the main period of Venus, as well. At this stage she sought the astrological advice and remedies. She agreed to begin wearing a Special Power Kavach at the advised auspicious time and also regularly performed the propitiatory remedies advised for Rahu, Ketu, Venus and Mars. The astral remedies helped not only on her health front but also brought good fortune to the family.

IMPACT OF REMEDIES

CHART 47

This is a significant case showing how the diligent performance of astral remedies changes the results of sub periods and prolonged transit impacts.

The sign Taurus rises in the ascendant, and the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Saturn are functional benefic (favorable) planets. Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Rahu and Ketu are functional malefic (unfavorable) planets. The Moon acts as a Sun-like planet. Persons born in this ascending sign are generally emotional and ease loving people when the Moon and Mercury are strong in the birth chart. If the Sun is fairly strong, they are able to lead their lives comfortably. Venus ruling health is utterly weak in this chart.
This person has been diligently performing propitiatory remedies over the past 25 years. There is a strong affliction in her birth chart. Debilitated Mars is under the exact affliction of Rahu. This makes her vulnerable to cancer or serious illness. She saw the main period of Ketu, from July, 2000 to July, 2007, without any notable difficulty. Similarly, she saw the sub period of strongly afflicted Mars, from end of July, 2013, through most of September, 2014. From 27th September, 2014, she has been in the sub period of Rahu in the main period of the functional malefic planet, Venus. During the sub period of Rahu she saw a prolonged transit impact of Ketu on her natal Rahu and Mars from October, 2014, up to the beginning of February, 2015. Simultaneous to this prolonged transit influence the prolonged transit impact of the most malefic planet Jupiter was also operating. It is the grace of only the propitiatory (peace-making) remedies which are seeing her through difficult times without any significant problems, and she is leading her normal life. This has been really thought provoking for me. I marvel regarding the power of the diligent performance of propitiatory remedies.

CHART 48

This is the birth chart of a lady who faced challenges on various fronts in life including the education of her children. The sign Cancer rises in the ascendant. The planets, the Moon, Sun, Mars, Venus and Mercury become functional benefic (favorable) planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic (unfavorable) planets. Mercury acts as a Sun-like planet. The Moon is lord of the ascendant. It rules health in general, personality and status. It is placed in the second house ruling family, wealth and status. The Moon is weak but well placed in the birth chart. The native worked as an officer and will have a good pension after her retirement. The Sun is lord of the second house. It rules wealth, status, family, professional success and speech. It is placed in the ninth house ruling father, religion, spirituality and fortune. The Sun is fairly strong in the birth chart. It blessed her with good education, wealth and professional success. Mercury is the lord of third house. It rules younger brothers, initiatives, communication and entrepreneurial nature. It is placed in the eighth house ruling accidents, obstructions and inheritance. Mercury is weak and afflicted in her birth chart. It slows down her initiatives and indicates problems to younger brothers as the lord of the third house is badly placed and the most effective point of the third house is closely afflicted. She lost her three younger brothers in the sub period of Jupiter in its own main period. Jupiter closely afflicts the third house.

Venus is the lord of fourth house. It rules the mother, education, properties, vehicles, mental peace and happiness in relationships. It is placed in the tenth house ruling professional matters and happiness through male child. Venus is weak and the most effective point of the mooltrikona sign of Venus is afflicted in her birth chart. It indicates mental stress, causes problems in acquisition of properties, indicates loss of assets; indicates challenges to parents and reduces/threatens comforts of life. She lost her father at a young age.

Jupiter is the lord of the sixth house. It rules the features of health, financial strength, confidence, analytical powers and presence of mind. It is placed in the tenth house ruling professional matters and happiness through male child. Jupiter is weak and placed in an afflicted house in her birth chart. It afflicts the most effective points of the eleventh, third, fifth and seventh houses. This makes her vulnerable to stress, intestinal disorders and malfunctioning of the liver.

Saturn is lord of the eighth house. It rules the marital bond, spiritual values, parental health, wealth, inheritance and easy gains. It is placed in the fourth house ruling mother, assets, marital happiness and school education. Saturn is weak as it is placed in an afflicted house in her birth chart. It causes close afflictions to the houses occupied and aspected. It gives serious health concerns.

Mars ruling the tenth house becomes the prime determinant for professional matters. It is placed in the tenth house ruling professional matters. Mars is weak as its mooltrikona sign house is afflicted by the aspect of the most malefic planet, Saturn.

She sought astrological advice in 2006 after the death of her brother. The planetary positions were explained to her. She further requested advice regarding the astral remedies. The peace making remedies for Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu were advised. Special Purpose Kavaches were provided to her and her daughters. Life became better for her and the daughters. The daughters gained admission into good courses in the University. Both obtained masters degrees and were married. And as the pressures eased the remedies and wearing of the Special Purpose Kavaches were discontinued. Then the problems started surfacing again.

She suffered from extreme arthritis and typhoid in August, 2014. Transit Jupiter was under the influence of natal Ketu. Transit Saturn and Mars were conjunct. On 9th November, 2014, her husband suffered a heart attack. Transit Saturn was on the most effective point of the fifth house and afflicted the seventh and second houses. Transit Jupiter afflicted the most effective point of the second house. Transit Venus and Sun were under the close affliction of natal Jupiter. In the face of multiple afflictions and problems, she again remembered the astral remedies and started wearing the Special Purpose Kavach on 26th January, 2015. On 5th February, 2015, she offered feedback that ever since she started the propitiatory remedies in November, 2014, and the wearing of the Special Purpose Kavach in January, 2015, she has been feeling much better regarding her knee pain and was able to walk comfortably. This result came about in spite of the fact that natal Rahu and Ketu continued to be afflicted 100% by the same degree from transit Rahu and Ketu.

CHART 49

This is the birth chart of a person who contacted me in the year 2001 when he had lost his job due to termination. He sought the help of astral remedies for his reinstatement in his job with a government department. The sign Cancer rises in the ascendant. The planets, the Moon, Sun, Mars, Venus and Mercury become functional benefic (favorable) planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic (unfavorable) planets. There are two strong afflictions in this birth chart. The first is a strong affliction by the lord of the sixth house, Jupiter, to the houses occupied and aspected. The second affliction is the exact affliction to Saturn by Ketu and Rahu. These indicate sudden problems regarding job, father and self, along with serious health concerns. The afflictions caused by Jupiter indicate problems in life due to disputes relating to inheritance, job, family and assets. At this stage, the astral remedies were sought. A Kavach and propitiatory remedies for Rahu, Ketu, Saturn and Jupiter were suggested. As the afflictions were very strong, the results were expected but with delay. So, despite the strong lord of the tenth house, there was the prolonged problem with his career during the sub period of Rahu in the main period of Jupiter. The problems continued during the sub period of Saturn in the main period of Saturn. Even with the help of the astral remedies, success was delayed in the sub period of Mercury, as Mercury is weak due to bad placement, however he was reinstated. The person then became less diligent and did not attend to the propitiatory remedies regularly. So, his work pay for the period from 2001 to 2008 remained pending. He once more contacted me for astral remedies help. Astral remedies and a Special Power Kavach were again suggested to him.

CHART 50

Sometime in the latter half of the year 1997, I was contacted by a medical doctor regarding his health problem. He had been missing a heart beat frequently and was not benefiting from the medical treatment of a big multi-specialty hospital in New Delhi (India). He came to see me for astrological advice based on a recommendation from one of his patients. I prepared his birth chart and identified the problem. I advised him of the astrology remedies. He said that his father would neither allow him to wear the Special Power Kavach nor the propitiatory remedies to be performed. It was about 10:00 PM. I told him to connect with his father over the phone and find out whether the latter would prefer his son dying rather than performing the astrology remedies. The medical doctor responded that he would manage to get permission from his father for following the astral remedies. Let us see his birth chart:

Three functional malefic planets, the Sun, Mars and Saturn, cause close afflictions to the houses occupied and aspected by them. Mars and the Sun are closely conjunct, afflicting each other and both are also causing a close affliction to the Moon. Mars, Mercury and Venus are combust along with Jupiter being debilitated in the birth chart. Venus is under a close aspect from Rahu. Mercury is under a close affliction from the afflicted Sun. The planetary weaknesses resulted in a number of problems to the person regarding health, relationship and property matters. He was duped out of his assets in business. The close influence of the lord of the sixth house on the fifth and second houses brought him to the study of medicine. The influence of the Sun on the lord of the ascendant, Mercury, also brought on the study of medicine.

In early 1994, transit Rahu caused an influence on the most effective point of the third and seventh houses which resulted in a lawsuit against him filed by his wife for a demand of money from the wife's parents. In January, 1996, when transit Saturn and Ketu caused malefic aspects to his natal Venus, he suffered from a heart problem.

Whenever a prolonged malefic transit influence is on the natal second house, tenth house, the lords of the second and tenth houses or on the Sun, especially when placed in the twelfth house or sixth house the person faces trouble in professional, health and legal matters. Such afflictions should be taken seriously. There can be false implications, cheating, losses and serious health problems. The afflictions become more serious if Rahu or Ketu are causing affliction from a malefic house.

Whenever there is a strong affliction of the sixth lord or Mars is placed in the twelfth house, the person is likely to go through surgery during/after the prolonged malefic transit influence.

There is another significant case which comes to my mind and is based on a lack of faith in the remedies. In 2001, on the suggestion of his wife, an astrologer, following classical principles, contacted me to seek advice for the marriage of his two daughters, who were of marriageable age. I analyzed the horoscopes and found that in one of the birth charts the most malefic planet was influencing the most effective point of the 7th house. In the other case: (i) Rahu/Ketu were causing exact affliction to the second, fourth, eighth and twelfth houses ruling marriage and marital happiness; and (ii) the most malefic planet was causing an exact affliction to the lord of the second house. In both cases inordinate delay or denial of marital happiness was seen. The classical astrologer was advised that in these cases diligent performance of propitiatory remedies were required and both of his daughters needed the special power Kavach. The classical astrologer and his daughters had never thought Systems' Approach to be very accurate and decided to try arranging the marriages without the help of the SA remedies. The performance of the suggested peacemaking remedies was not done diligently, which has resulted in that as of 2015 both of the girls continue to remain unmarried.

So this is my advice to all those who are following the astral remedies: they should continuously perform the astral remedies as recommended to them throughout their life. This is a karma (results of deeds of our past lives) tax. We can only get relief by performing the astral remedies.
